Ammo Box: Assorted Bxllets
A downloadable supplement
Everyone knows that if a gunslinger sends a bullet your way, you die. But what many don't know is that this isn't always true.
Sometimes the bullet bursts into a swarm of beetles.
Sometimes the bullet poofs you half a mile away.
Sometimes the bullet grants you a memory.
Or maybe death does happen, but in addition to the victim being turned to stone, swamped in tar, or obliterated along with the rest of the town they're in.
Or maybe the lucky target receives the opposite of death through mending of wounds, protection from harm, or even a return from the grave.
All of these and more can result from the strange bullets that occasionally crop up in wells, or ancient quarries, or abandoned bunkers, or Beast stomachs... or maybe your own smoking barrel.
Ammo Box: Assorted Bxllets is a supplement for [BXLLET> by Rathayibacter that introduces 40 unique types of exotic bullets to pump in wild new possibilities for firing guns. With just a standard deck of cards, you can expand your game to include even more excitement, surprise, drama, and suspense as player characters hunt down, collect, trade, and threaten to use these mysterious new resources!
Will you use your Pill Bullet to banish an ally's chronic pain, or will you withhold the cure to a victim's poison until they agree to your contract? Will you cause slow agony in a wretched foe with your Rot Bullet, or will you use it to quietly eat away at the foundation of the corrupt mayor's mansion? Will you use your Mirror Bullet to double the impact of that last precious ammunition ability, or will you hold onto it as the ultimate bargaining chip? Explore these quandaries and many more with Ammo Box!
NOTE: If you purchased the BXLLET BXNDLE or BXLLET Arsenal Bundle, you already own this!

A bullet does not, in any world but shmup, kill immediately. In that concept does this pack specialize. For number cards, bullets weave, they store, they feed. Number cards transform, they strip, they insult, unharm, untether, unmake. Death an outcome second to consequence.
Here, a deck of cardsā inherent power structures & the time/path a bullet takes to kill get subverted.
From page 1, the definition of deck of cards dissolves. Itās whateverās most interactive at your table. Is that the contents of your groupās pockets? A recipe box of index cards from othersā games? A search resultās page of pixabay images or itch.io covers or youtube thumbnails? A music visualizer setting? Is that dice? Itās dice, isnāt it? Then your deck of cards is dice.
A royal card never benefits your bullet. Royal cards are the bare minimum, royals are bullets with no flavor nor additional function. At the table, the packās design does not let such withholding royals go unrecognized. The pack accuses these cards. The pack says tables who take out these cards, who treat these cards as destructible NPCs, are rewarded. A royal card which a table removes makes drawing flavorful number cards easier and easier.
Favorite bullet: eel bullet, I like each of the pentacles but I like this one most bc itās like shooting ribbons out your gun and the air dies and you can run along the airās carcass unless if you have some sort of boots or a board available, then you can grind down the dead air instead. Cool.
What bullet would I bring to a table?
Snack Bullet ā For 7 minutes, target table is dead, the game loudly regenerating through squelching people at the table producing crunchy orbs or a hot leaf drink or phone call to mom.
If a table rules no meta bullets, Iād sub in
Feather Bullet ā Stripping the nearest source of calcium to grow, feathers erupt from the target who is dead the moment such feathers are not preened for x hours a day, where x is the number of days itās been since this bullet was fired.
(Shoot a statue with the tar bullet and the feather bullet to watch it crumble into corvids. From all the living, remove all Wounds made in The Crumbled Statueās name. Add 1 crater to a prominent celestial object for each wound removed in this way.)
Thank you for writing this, xander
And thank YOU for writing this lovely review!! ā„ I'm glad the royal themes came through š The idea of meta bullets fascinates me (as I'm sure it would for Rathayibacter as well): bullets that lets you swap out your character sheet, bullets that let you rewrite an uncomfortable scene, bullets that burst into instances of other games... Feather Bullet is also really cool!
