What's So Cool About Being Tiny?
A downloadable RPG
Have you ever dreamed about what it'd be like to only be a few centimeters tall? Me too — all the time! I love the idea of re-imagining everyday things and places as if I were no bigger than a Lego figure.
Well, that's what this game is all about! Using this hack of Jared Sinclair's "What's So Cool About Outer Space?", you can explore the big world anew as characters like Arrietty, Tinkerbell, Ratatouille, and more. In the WSCA tradition, grab a notebook (physical or digital) and start detailing your adventures as you have them, either on your own or with friends! Or, skip the studious scribing and dive right into exploring your big new world!
Unlike WSCAOS, this game doesn't need any dice (though there's plenty of lists of 6 where you can use them if you want to). Instead, you choose your own successes and failures using tallies, a point exchange system that takes inspiration from the No Dice No Masters philosophy of Avery Alder.
Made for the What Is So Cool About Jam, hosted by Axes&Orcs.
The "demo" below contains the full game as a text-only file; feel free to get a taste of the content before paying, or simply use it instead of the PDF if it suits your needs better. Free community copies are also available. 💚 I'd love to hear what you think about this! You can post them below, or tweet at me.

Times are tough. For marginalized people, times are EXTRA tough.

This game asks you to pretend you all are smaller than small with mites you can see due to you shrunken irises and droplets of water that you can carry do to its surface tension.
It teaches you how to be kind to yourself and how to be kind to others as you engage with the idea of being tiny together. It helps you explore ways to tell the events together evenly and share in the troubles as well as the solutions you find.
I really like this sentence on using the tally system:
It seemed scary and felt stirring, and threats immediately bubbled up in my head, filling the gap this warning created. So many threats that i felt inspired to make a little list of them. Here’s the list:
Thank you for this! I'm delighted that you made this little hack, it's so good!! Love that you found ways to further evoke the mysteries of this world... I'm really glad you got so inspired to envision these yet-unexplored aspects of the game and what they might mean and look like. Heck, I just might have to use this next time I play!
