Well, it's clearly well past this year's National Talk Like A Pirate Day... but when were pirates about restricting themselves to the rules of society (like calendars) anyway? And I think it's worth the delay, because this wave of edits is almost big enough to capsize a frigate!

The largest change I've implemented is regarding heroes' fears. They now start the game with 5 fear points, with every time you face your fear not only helping you reduce its power over you, but also giving you a change for valuable courage points! And you'll want to cut down on those fears, because rolling under them can make you lose an entire die to unsteady nerves...

Other edits I've crammed in:

• added misfortunes, dramatic calamities that strikes whenever you take the easy way out (and on every Ace flipped)
• tied new goal prompts more directly to standard pulpy pirate stories
  
• made figures' roll levels more manageable, with more ways to boost your rolls
• addressed free-form transition play between action-packed scenes
• generally clarified explanations, phrasing, and layout tweaks
