A downloadable microgame collection

So often, I find myself unable to eat one single large thing, but then end up eating the same amount as a large number of small things. I can't eat a quarter wedge of watermelon, but I can eat four bowls of it when diced. I can't eat two baked potatoes, but I can finish off an entire can of Pringles in one sitting.

For the 24-Word RPG Jam, I decided to take the same approach to game design.

Here you will find 24 RPGs, each 24 words long. Each one is tiny, yet totally playable, if you put your mind to it. Together, they form a vast array of genres, tones, and playstyles. There is almost guaranteed to be a couple games in here you'll enjoy, or at least which tickle your fancy. And hopefully, you'll enjoy the process of reading many small games just as much (if not more) than tackling one big game.

As this project was pursued for a game jam, these games are currently presented in their barest form: in a compiled list, text only. I hope to work on giving each game fancier formatting, but such an undertaking will likely take a while. In the meantime, feel free to peruse what's here!

So many of these are brilliant! I love how some I can just play by myself in my head (Algorithmic Love). I really want some people to play Storysmiths with me!

Aww, thank you so much!! I'm so glad you like them ☺️

Theses are great <3 your play in games comes through, from stockpiled tower blocks, to munchkin-esque Ace id +1 mace, to Dialect but you’re a lingunurse mending words in place of making any, a held way of things (‘back’ & ‘up’), a surprise Carrion character gen, color hexcode claims but it’s fonts, loving kindred/kitchen wordplay, a gd netrunner love story, that slick “dice sets are decks actually” tcg. Love these little guys

Thank you so much, Schwa! I'm so glad there's some good eggs in this messy nest 🤍
